A mixed bag

Govchain has been a mixed bag for me. In terms of quickly registering a business, they were great. Super efficient and made you believe, if only briefly, that we lived in a country that was technologically competent. Good start.

The wheels promptly fell off when using the tax return and SARS registered representative services. These were paid for in September 2021 and only the SARS registered representative has been resolved (on the 24th of Feb). This was only resolved after I pushed from my side about the outstanding services.

Sadly, Govchain thought it better to blame SARS (an easy target) for the delays and imp**** that I was at fault for not being aware of the process and potential hiccups. Now, arrogance is a quality seldom met with great appreciation, but even less so when it's coupled with incompetence.

In a twisted turn of events, SARS were super efficient and prompt in resolving the issue.

In summary, go ahead and use Govchain to register a new business... and then get as far away from their services as possible.

Hi Matt, it seems you caught the service a right after SARS implemented the new process. All issues from SARS and our side have been resolved and everything is running smoothly. Thanks for the feedback!

I'd have to disagree. Last week the documentation sent to Govchain had not been uploaded to SARS which required duplicate work on my part and just this morning the service still showed as "in process" on the website which has held up the completion of two tax returns. Saying "everything is running smoothly" is disingenuous.

If you are incapable of reliably delivering a service, it's best to stop offering it to customers.

I've checked with the technical team and they ensure me all systems are running smoothly. I've personally checked your profile and all services appear to have been delivered. Please refresh your page or contact support if the problem persists.

If it takes 5 months to complete a service that requires 21 working days and a further week to update your system to reflect that it's completed (only after I reached out to you) -- we have very different definitions of "running smoothly".

Be better in future and own up when you make mistakes. People are generally quite accommodating and willing to overlook issues when you aren't 💩..
