Unacceptable root treatment

I made a booking in Jan'22 for Oct'22. In May'22 I forwarded a email stating that I would like to cancel my booking, they only responded back to me in July'22 to confirm my cancellation and that they will refund me my deposit paid. Now Aug'22 a month later I followed up about my refund, the admin lady advised me that she directed the refund to the owner Douw but she is not sure if I will receive my refund.

I advised her that I already canceled way in advance so it is just correct that they reimburse me. She started being root to me and advised me that an email is not good enough to cancel a booking, I must have phoned as well. She then proceeded to shouting at me and said she will put the phone down in my ear.

With an attitude like that I will never ever book with them again.
