Goldair gas heater disappointing

I bought a new goldair gas heater last month. I only started using it this month and it keeps switching itself off. And then you can't switch it back on. This is very disappointing... Worse part I can't even return it as I lost my till slip, so basically I'm stuck with a defective gas heater not knowing what it might do next and whether my son and I are safe
