Extremely disappointed

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the way Gold Leaf Debt Review handled my account and finances.

I joined their debt review process in October 2025 because I trusted them to assist me in managing my accounts responsibly, including my vehicle finance account. From the beginning, they started debiting money from my account every month, giving me the impression that arrangements had been made with all my creditors.

To my shock, I later discovered that my car finance account was not paid for 3 months after they had already started taking money from me. Even after that, they allegedly continued making short payments to the bank.

As a result of their poor handling of my account, my vehicle finance is now heavily in arrears, and I currently owe approximately R17 480. My credit profile and financial reputation have now been negatively affected because of this situation.

When I approached Gold Leaf for answers, they told me there “was no agreement yet” with the bank. My question is: how can a debt review company start debiting a client before finalising agreements with the creditors they are supposed to manage?

Now that this problem has escalated and I am facing pressure from the bank, they are telling ME to make payment arrangements, even though their actions are what caused this mess in the first place.

I trusted this company with my finances during a difficult time, but instead of helping me, I feel they made my situation far worse. I believe consumers deserve honesty, transparency, and proper communication from debt review companies.

I am sharing this experience publicly because I do not want other consumers to go through the same stress, financial damage, and emotional frustration I have experienced.
