This is a disgracea
My fiance took a 14 karat white gold ring with a 0.51 beautiful round cut diamond and lots of other small diamonds in it to them, just for them to tell him they don't take the gold they only take the diamond and gave him R4500 for a ring that cost R52 000

Additionally, the retail value of the entire ring, factoring in the gold setting and other smaller diamonds, would be around R30,000 as opposed to the R52,000 you mentioned. It's also important to note that retail prices often include markups of around 200%.
