False Advertising Competition

GO HEALTH CLUB (WORLD WEAR) Go Health Club ran a competition at Northcliff High School premises the past weekend (16/09/2017). They promoted their products, they also did a competition whereby 10 people that submitted their entries will win x10 FREE membership (not the usual one of R149.00 sign up for x2 months). My name got selected among others. I was so excited to finally getting a change to try gym because iv never gymed before. They took our details down and told us we can start anytime from now for 2 months free. They gave us a slip to produce when visiting gym as an intro so they can capture our details down on their system.

i was so excited not knowing i will be disappointed when i get there. I decided to visit their gym on Sunday at World Wear Centre to give it a try because its closer to my place around 3pm. When i got there trying to explain myself, their receptionist was not aware of what was happening, the people that were promoting did not get a mandate to promote free gym services. They could not let me in, i had to show them what i was given with my name on it, the lady stated they will only give me one pass to see how the gym looks like but the promotion that occurred was not lawful. She knew all those people that came to advertise their gym at northcliff High, she did not even try to phone and find out exactly the real story, i kept cool. One of their consultant offered to show me around and let me try for few minutes before i could go back home.

They kept on saying i should register and pay to give it a try, they will give me a key to access the gym etc.... but how come because i won the competition they were running to access their gym FREELY for 2months. Their Consultant offered to do the follow up on the misunderstanding - i left my number again - they promised to phone me on Monday the 18th and till today no communication whatsoever.

I am so disappointed by the whole dilemma. How can you advertise and promote something falsely???? Was there a competition in the first place ....Did we really win the competition and what about the rest of the people that were selected?
