When you hear the word ‘repatriation’ in real and personal terms for the first time, it tends to trigger alarm bells….sure enough, part of my dearest family decided, during lock down, to move closer to their parents and the only way to do this, was a repatriation flight….and that was my first formal introduction to Michelle De Gasperi of Global Nomad, Travel & Repatriation Flight Specialists. I, of course, followed my family’s successful progress with keen interest and when my husband & I decided to make the same move, our obvious choice, albeit not during a lock down or on repatriation terms, was Global Nomad. With honesty, I am convinced that if we did not have Michelle to guide us through the process from the very beginning, we may not have seen the process through. Her wealth of knowledge regarding relocating is extensive and accurate. The energy she started managing our journey with, evolved and by the time we had the proper paperwork, it had changed to include emotional support because although the journey with her is focused on a person’s travels, the journey we embarked on, was all encompassing…… this included giving up a home, leaving behind precious family, resigning from a workplace, worrying about beloved family pets and of course, their journey too….. And, low and behold, Michelle loves ‘fur babies’ also!!! Again, her wealth of contacts and knowledge came into play, always cushioned by her obvious love for animals. This, all before the actual ticket booking experience, which in the Covid 19 climate was an absolute nightmare with carriers constantly cancelling flights, changing itineraries and also safety protocols. By this time everyone’s nerves were raw and yet, throughout the entire time, Michelle stayed calm, strong, and full of purpose. She stays focused on a potential way forward and the next plan – it is quite incredible how intensely industrious she is. She never once displayed irritation at being contacted at short notice and/or awkward times ie when finding yourself at the mercy of uncooperative airline check-in staff in the middle of the night. The result…. we are safely here, our journey miraculously somehow still in line with our plan, even though there were numerous changes, totally out of anyone’s control. We are, I am happy to say, settling in, but before we move on, we would both like to thank Michelle for not only going the extra miles but for putting herself on the line in what must be one of the most volatile times the modern world has ever faced. We are extremely grateful, Michelle, to have crossed paths with you! We certainly wish you and your company, Global Nomad, huge success!
