***** services from Glazier tech south coast road. Ordered a battery and was told it is an original bmw battery. When I got there the first red flag was they asked me to open my boot and proceeded to take out my battery before even showing me my new battery. They then asked me to wait in the waiting area as customers are not allowed in the workshop. As I waited I felt something odd. So I asked the guy assisting me how many months warranty do I get on the battery, and he told me 6 months. I was in abit of awe as a bmw original battery should have a minimum of 2 years warranty. I then asked to please see the battery before they put it into the car. When I saw the battery I was absolutely shocked. It was an Exide battery which I was going to pay R3000 for. I asked the guy assisting why is this happening when I specifically said I wanted a bmw original battery. He said the bmw original battery is R4500. I said I understand this, but over the phone I explained that bmw smg is having it on sale for R3300 and you guys said you could beat it and do it for R3000 therefore I came here. He then phoned his boss and after the call tells me okay he needs to go pick the bmw battery up. I waited an hr for him to come back. At first glance at the battery it looked like an original bmw so I proceeded to ask him to confirm if it's a 2 year warranty, he tells me no its one year. Upon further investigation on the battery it looked like a refurbished / second hand battery as well as a **** because the CCA did not match the value of my original bmw battery. This is not something bmw would change! I refused to take the battery and asked him to please take it back out of my car. Upon refitting my old battery the guy connects the negative terminal first! (This can cause a big issue with the DME and electronics in your bmw). So thank you Glazier tech for wasting 2 hours of my day and potentially damaging my car. I drove to BMW Durban south, and was greeted with such friendly faces. They assisted me on my new purchase. They also did not have stock but offered me free delivery to my home. Yasis sometimes it's just best to pay the little more and get your peace of mind and quality service. I'm still shocked that Glazier tech is rmi approved but will be taking this issue further.
