Installed wrong glass - won't refund

I went to Glasfit Worcester to have my front passenger window replaced after a smash-and-grab. They had advised that it should take about an hour to refit. I waited 3 hours for them to finish up. They said I needed to wait 48 hours before using my window - I waited 7 days (to make sure) and then when I tried to wind my window down, it got stuck and was not sitting in the frame properly.

So I took it back and waited another 2 hours for them to refit it again. Same thing happened again on use after 48 hours - slid incorrectly in window frame and would not close. So I asked them again to sort it out and then they advised that the glass for my car model was supposed to have holes in it or something so that the winder could push it up, and that they could not get the proper glass for my car. So I took my car to my mechanic and asked him to sort it out with the proper glass. He did and also saw that they had damaged the window winder mechanism - he replaced that and the glass easily.

I called Glasfit for a full refund. The manager / owner Walter said that the window they supp**** was the correct one, and that I must bring the glass in and if the supplier advises that there is a defect in the glass then only will he refund me. There is no defect in the glass - its just the wrong glass. He will not admit they installed the wrong glass. I have heard three different storeis from them on the glass - I opened it too soon, the glass is wrong, and now the glass is right, but they won't refund.

He was rude and short with me and not helpful at all. They installed the wrong glass, then won't refund me for their mistake after wasting hours of my time. I am not in the wrong. I expected them to fit the glass professionally, andf they did not, now they won't refund me for a mistake they made / work they cannot complete successfully.

Good Day

I sincerely apologize for the poor service that you have received at our Worcester branch. I have spoken to Walter the owner of the branch and he has assured me that he is fully prepared to resolve the matter for you with regards to the glass. The process that needs to be done now is that the glass needs to be fully assessed by the branch and taken back to the supplier for their own assessments. Should it turn out that the glass is incorrect then the owner is prepared to refund you in full.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused.

Thank you

Best regards,
