Bootlog damaged because of Glasfit Witbank

My rear window on my Hyundai IX35 was replaced through my insurance, first for women by Glasfit Witbank.

My bootlog was damaged as small pieces of glass went inside the bootlog as the BOOTLOG was NOT CLOSED by the guy who fitted the window. We stood and watched as the window was fitted and know for a 100% that the bootlog was not closed before the fitter started to pull the pieces of glass of the car.

This was confirmed by Rory, the manager as Automagic Witbank as I went to them to see why my boot didn't want to open. He showed me the small pieces of glass inside the bootlog and also showed me the damages caused by the glass.

Since Friday, 10th of July I have been speaking to the VERY UNHELPFUL manager, Dawid. He told me he'll speak to the owner and com back to me on Monday 13th of July. Up until Friday 17th of July, DAWID never came back to me. I phone him daily to get updates on my bootlog that was damaged by small pieces of glass.

Dawid keeps on promising he'll come back to me... Now Dawid is blaming the panelbeaters and saying it was them that damaged the bootlog... this is complete nonsense!!!!! I saw the small pieces of glass with my own eyes inside the bootlog.

My boot was working perfectly until the rear window was fitted. As soon as my window was fitted, I wanted to open my boot, just to find that my boot was not opening, that is when I went to the panelbeater to see what the problem was with the boot. I did not even know that small pieces of glass can damage the bootlog, otherwise I would have gone straight to Glasfit.

Dawid is unhelpful, lies and said he couldn't find the part to fix the bootlog, now he keeps me on a string, promises to come back to me but never does... And now he is starting to blame the panelbeater for the glass insiede the bootlog???

Can someone get back to me in this regard please, I am getting fed up and am extremely unhappy with this damages that was caused to my vehicle because of neglect from Glasfit Witbank, they never closed the bootlog before starting to chop the glass of the car before fitting the window!

Good Day

Thank you kindly for alerting us to this issue. Please be informed that we referred the matter to your insurance for further assistance.
Unfortunately there were certain things that needed to be completed by a Panel Beater as work was outside of our work scope.

Kind regards
