Anti competitive bahaviour?
Some time ago I posted a query regarding a windscreen for my BMW - that was resolved by going to PG. Now I again have a very serious question for Glasfit!.......if they dare answer?
Visited the branch again today where an old school mate is the manager. I was very disappointed to hear that I have to accept a Benson windscreen for my 2012 Audi - this vehicle is spotless. I had trouble with a Benson windscreen before (and so have a number of friends), they are very thin (SABS only checks specs once), tend to distort your view and do not come with the required accessories, so they have to be "made to fit". I eventually replaced one at my own cost with a Windscreen Distributors product - very happy since then. Glasfit forces franchisees into fitting this inferior product at a hugely discounted rate - alternatively penalising the use of other "alternative" glass manufacturers. This is collusion according to the letter of the law, to reap financial gain by influencing competitive market forces.
Glasfit, what are you up to now? I hear you are also considering the fitment of Universe motor glass. I am not happy with the business ethics at play and may have to resort to PG yet again, unless you can convince me otherwise. I will not accept a Benson again. Keen to hear your public response.
