Policy pay out

The father of my children passed away 18months ago. They were the beneficiaries of his policies with Glacier (Sanlam). The money has still not been paid out. The trustees of the fund says it's their prerogative to pay out (or not). So what is the use of naming beneficiaries on your policies or pension fund if the trustees can decide who they want to pay? Shame on Sanlam for causing minors to starve!

Dear Chumus
We've investigated the matter and sent our feedback to your email address this afternoon.
We're confident that our feedback explains the obligations placed on the trustees and the process they need to follow to finalise the matter. Be assured we’ll be in contact with you and all other role-players once the trustees have finalised the process and allocated the benefit. We regrettably cannot provide an exact time frame for this, and we trust you'll have understanding for this.
You’re welcome to contact us via email or telephone. Our details are provided in the email we've sent you.
Thank you for your patience.

Sorry as explained in my reply to you: your lenghty explanation is not enough. The way this matter has been dealt with is a disgrace! And seems it's going to get much worse before it's going to get better!

Dear Chumus
We're sorry to hear that you're still dissatisfied. As noted in our email to you, it's not possible to provide an exact time frame for completion as the trustees must ensure they fulfil all the duties imposed on them by law. Be assured that your comments will be brought to their attention, and we'll be in contact with you soon.
