My woes with Sanlam

In September 2024, I received an email from Sanlam indicating that an amount was due to me relating to Steinhof shares. The shares relate to an investment that had already been cashed out, and therefore there would be reason for Sanlam to retain the money in their accounts. Naturally, I asked where the money was. I was informed that I should contact sebclientcare, which I did in email, after email, after email hoping to trigger some human response. All I got for my troubles was automated response after automated response informing me that they were receiving a lot of emails and thanking me for my patience. I then wrote to Sanlam's complaints and got another clearly automated response indicating that the matter would be allocated to someone to look into, and that was that. While I understand the benefits of automated responses for a busy corporate, the idea is that, at some point, a human would take over and deal with the matter. They are not an end in themselves, something Sanlam clearly knows, I am sure. I also appreciate that Sanlam might be dealing with quite a number of two pot retirement withdrawals, but mine is an easy enough query. I am sure it would take less than a metaphorical minute for someone to log into their computer and verify where the money is. We are not in the 19th century where an employee would have to go to some dingy and dusty back room to fetch a ledger (or whatever these big corporates used in the past to record their transactions) and thumb through it to trace transactions. This just unacceptable and showing me a proverbial corporate middle finger.
