******* customer service with faulty item
I upgraded my old Ghds for the new hot pink platinum ones. After a couple of months in the middle of the night they started beeping and a red light started flashing. The irons were switched off but the plug socket was switched on. I emailed Ghd customer services and they sent me a returns label so they could examine them. After a couple of days I got an email saying that they were offering me a new pair, but that they didn't stock the hot pink ones anymore so I could have plain black or white. I was not happy about this as I paid more for the pink and liked the bright ones, but after saying this they still only offered the black or white. I chose the black. After another couple of months the same thing happened with the new pair. I emailed Ghd and explained it was happening again. This time however I was told it was a safety feature and it beeps to remind the user to unplug them, apparently incase there's a power surge, hmmmm maybe I should switch off my microwave, hairdryer, sky box etc!! I have two problems with this... 1- if this was the case and it's a safety feature I could've had my pink ones back 2- I have since left them plugged in and switched on, for over 12 hours one day, and they have only beeped one or two of those times.... so does that mean my safety feature is broken? Also two of my friends who have Ghd platinums have left theirs plugged in and no beeping. I'm not happy and trying to decide my next course of action. When you pay over £150 for a product and it develops a fault after less than 4 months I would expect better customer service!! Then, and this made me really cross, I got an email to ask about my customer service experience.... and it was from the person I'd just dealt with....bet that won't get passed on!!
kind regards
