GHD Platinum

I purchased the GHD Platinum for my birthday in July 2016, The straightener to this day is in perfect condition. Now all of a sudden, I have a red light flashing and the straightener doesn't switch on?

I was willing to pay for repairs but from what I've read this product is faulty, to begin with? That it is irreparable? Why didn't GHD do a recall of all the GHD Platinums if this is the case?

This is unacceptable, these products are expensive. GHD should replace my straightener regardless of the warranty period.
