Don't waste your money
Waste of Money 5-Month Delay, Broken Portal & Shocking Course Quality – UCT Instructional Design Rating: ⭐ (1/5) Review: I completed the UCT Instructional Design short course at the end of April 2026. It is now October, and I still do not have my certificate. I have emailed support 7 times. First, I was told to "check spam." Now, after sending a formal complaint, they told me to log into the UCT Digital Certificates portal. However, the portal does not recognize my credentials, and the "forgot password" tool refuses to send a reset email. Beyond the absolute administrative nightmare, this incredibly expensive course was a complete waste of money. As a teacher of 20+ years trying to pivot careers, I expected actual instruction. Instead, the course left us to teach ourselves. The materials were so irrelevant and poorly structured that I had to rely on external AI tools to actually learn the frameworks. GetSmarter has completely blocked my career progression by withholding the credential I paid for. Avoid this programme.

No Certificate and give run-around!!!
They do not issue certificates. They give you the run-around. They lie that they called you when they did not. Take you from pillar to post for you at get any assistance. Option 3 of their landline never gets answered. You'd think it would be reputable because it's UCT, well, it's not. Just another ****! Also, their course content is mediocre. I specifically joined this programme for a certificate which they now say they don't issue!

Avoid Getsmarter/UCT alliance online studies.
Pathetic service. They do not issue certification for course completion. The online portal where you can apparently only view your certificate does not work. And when one asks for an order form to order a hardcopy,their response is zero. Do not make use of this insituition.

They don't issue certificates for completed courses
They don't issue certificates for their course! So disappointing because people pay money that they don't even have sometimes to do the courses and they can't even issue certificates so that you can use it to apply for work.
