Get SACE negative review

<div>Just wanted to say that while the service itself was fine, what the company does not tell you before hand (which they really should, what with full disclosure and all) is that the police clearance check they do (which costs almost R500) does not actually count as a police clearance certificate. Essentially the document you receive from them (to fast track the police clearance process) is useless outside of South Africa (if you happen to be applying at a school overseas). Perhaps I was the first person they ever saw that needed police clearance for overseas, so fair enough, but their website does not inform customers that you are paying for something that will not be accepted outside of our borders and neither do the people working there. There is absolutely no wiggle room here; the final document receive from them has a clause at the bottom stating that what you receive does not count as a police clearance certificate - something you don't find out before paying or before they refuse to refund you. Now, because I am running low on time I've had to use Post Net which is over R700, so add that to the fees of Get SACE and I'm over R1000 down here just to get a police clearance certificate. This is the official response I got when I asked for a refund: Dear **** Thank you for your email. Unfortunately we do not issue refunds as we processed your police clearance. We deal with over three hundred applicants and not one institution or school has an issue with our police clearance checks, in fact SACE prefer the Afiswitch ones. I really am sorry! All the best! Kind regards, ***** So basically they don't give a hoot about not being up front with what you are actually getting for your money. So this review is two-fold; firstly I'm warning everyone else to not use them if you need the fast track police clearance for overseas, and secondly I'm not going to recommend them because they are not forthcoming about what they do. Before companies started forming (like Get SACE) to take advantage of the numerous requirements SACE has placed on educators, we all had to go through our local cop shops to get a police clearance CERTIFICATE! Not a police check, a certificate! So how are customers supposed to know that this company that has jumped on the band wagon to try streamline the process is NOT actually providing what police stations provide. No one stated this out right, and to make this finally, absolutely clear, neither does their website. This could be due to an oversite on their side, or something more malicious. Either way I am dead broke this month thanks to these people. Not impressed.</div>
