GET IT. A company that ********ly breaches POPI.

Be very careful of this company. They are ********ly ignoring Data Privacy legislation. I have been receiving a barrage of calls (more than 10 calls over 5 day interval) from these data *********. I have requested to be removed from their database 6 times now. Each time I have escalated the gravity of my complaint. I am still receiving their ******* spam calls. The modus operandi is as follows: 1. Inbound call comes from a multiplicity of lines to make it impossible to block them. 2. Calls come from multiple 082 numbers, from multiple 031 numbers and most recently from an 010 number. 3. Multiple inbound call numbers are obviously used to maximise their chances of being picked up as spam callers. 4. Tele agent claims to be called from "*Garbledname* on behalf of Telkom". The name "Get It" is clearly deliberately garbled to prevent their chances of being identitifed as vicious spammers. 5. They have my full details - name, telephone number and date of birth - clearly a ******** breach under POPI. 6. They move quickly onto demanding the date of birth of the person who answers their call. 7. Despite your protests, they do not hang up. YOU have to terminate the call - and as quickly as possible. 8. Their is practically no record of this company on the internet. If Google does not know of them, that in itself is a reason to be very concerned. There is no company website and a search on the Telkom website yields nothing.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ENTERTAIN THESE PERSONS ON THE THE PHONE. If you cannot hear what company they are from, but only make out "ON behalf of Telkom", be very afraid. . You will find yourself in the same hapless circumstances as the other Hello Peter Reviewers who are reporting a very sad ending with GET IT.
