Disappointing Experience German Rebuilt Centre- Pierre Du Plessis
A Cautionary Tale: My Disappointing Experience with a Mechanic from This Group After almost 5 months of deliberation, I’ve decided to share the horrific experience I’ve had/having with a mechanic and also allclaimed advocate , that I sourced from this group. My hope is to warn others who might consider engaging with the same service. I do not like to name and shame , but this story has got out of hand and is weighing heavy. Also as a single mom & female who has no experience with car mechanics/fixing this is ethically not right . I firmly believe in supporting private individuals and small businesses, giving them the opportunity to thrive. However, my experience has left me not only disappointed but also feeling deeply let down. Trusting someone to provide a service and then being taken for a ride is simply unacceptable—not only on a personal level but also from a business perspective. We all value hard-earned money, and when we choose to spend it to support local or independent businesses, we expect a level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity. Unfortunately, this situation has demonstrated a complete lack of all three. I hope that by sharing my story, others will proceed with caution when deciding to engage with such services. Supporting private individuals is important, but it’s equally crucial to ensure that you’re dealing with someone who values their clients and operates ethically. Let this be a reminder to always do thorough checks before entrusting your vehicle or hard-earned money to anyone. Let’s hold each other accountable and ensure that no one else has to go through a similar ordeal. WARNING TO FUTURE CLIENTS REGARDING PIERRE DU PLESSIS FROM GERMAN REBUILD CENTRE I engaged the services of Pierre du Plessis from the German Rebuilt Centre 7 TREVOR STREET,MURRAFIELD, PRETORIA,0184 ( which i drove past seems like a resendial place butnever the less , to work on my vehicle, a Ford Ranger, on 12 March 2024, where he replaced the engine mounts. From the start, the vehicle continued to shake despite this repair. I repeatedly informed Pierre of the issue, and each time the vehicle was returned, he claimed to fix a different problem. Over the 5 months, I ended up spending more than R45,000 on various parts, replacements, and services, all of which I paid upfront and immediately which I now query if this was even done to the vehcile.? red flag However, the shaking issue persisted, and Pierre became unavailable to assist, claiming he was hospitalized. Left with no other choice, I took the vehicle to a Ford dealership (Silverlakes) on 20 August 2024—four months after the initial replacement. The dealership confirmed that both engine mounts had collapsed. When I contacted Pierre from the dealership , I questioned whether the engine mounts he installed were new or refurbished, but he was vague and claimed he couldn’t remember. I personally delivered the collapsed parts to Pierre’s residence, where I had previously left the vehicle, and requested a refund for the faulty engine mounts. As this service was conducted through the German Rebuilt Centre, I was entitled to a proper resolution as a paying client. Since 20 August 2024, Pierre has made countless promises to refund me, even confirming on several occasions that the payment had been processed. However, no refund has been received to date, and Pierre has now blocked my calls and whatapp messages. This experience has highlighted an appalling lack of professionalism and business ethics on Pierre’s part and by extension, the German Rebuilt Centre. I urge future clients to think twice before entrusting Pierre du Plessis or his business with their vehicles. SUMMARY OF ISSUES: • Faulty replacement of engine mounts. • Over R45,000 spent on unnecessary repairs without resolving the core issue. • Lack of accountability and refusal to refund for failed services. • Unprofessional behavior, including blocking calls after repeated false promises. As a paying customer, this experience has been unacceptable, frustrating, and costly. Be cautious when dealing with Pierre du Plessis or the German Rebuild Centre. +***4 attached are only some of the messages - todate this has not been resolved.
