Consumer beware of GENTECH Invertors. Be VERY aware. Check previous reviews

On the 30/07/2022 I purchased a GENTECH 1600WATT HYBRID INVERTER (Gentech Trolley Inverter Solar 1600 Watt) from Leroy Merlin, Little Falls at R11,299. On the box, if my memory serves me correctly, it explicitly states "1 YEAR WARRANTY". On the 28/01/2023 (6 MONTHS LATER), I RETURNED THE FAULTY UNIT. Today, the 01/02/2023, I receive a phone call from the salesman at Leroy Merlin stating that the supplier (GENTECH) will NOT REPAIR THE UNIT because I, apparently, let the batteries run flat. Gentech will, however, replace both batteries at a cost of approximately R7000 for 2 X Entry Level Batteries. That means, in total, this RUBISH would cost me R18,299, not to mention the transport costs. The "WARRANTY" does not cover the batteries after 3 months. If you, Leroy Merlin and GENTECH thinks that I am simply going to leave it here, you're in for a surprise. This MADE IN CHINA GENTECH Invertor is, in my opinion and based on my experience, an INFERIOR PRODUCT and should be recalled and sold only in China and NOT in South Africa.
