Avoid their products at all cost - not fulfilling warranties

I purchased a Gentech inverter from Massmart (Builders Warehouse) and it stopped working whilst under warranty. I returned the inverter to Builders to either have the inverter repaired, replaced or my money refunded. Builders was reluctant to contact Gentec, but I was persistent, pointing out my contract is with them and NOT Gentech. They need to sort it. They eventually agreed and warned me that the process could take months. Unaware of the complaints regarding Gentech Industries, I purchased another Gentech inverter from Builders Warehouse, since I cannot wait this long with load shedding and whatnot. Two months later (2 weeks ago) Gentech Industries responded to Builders with a quote of R 3333 to repair the inverter. I then contacted in person the Builders branch manager at Tygervalley, Sameer Ebrahim. He contacted Gentech Industries telephonically to convey my unhappiness. The person he spoke to at Gentech, Christian, then informed Sameer that the inverter got water damaged and wanted to know if I stay close to the ocean. I mean, this is a joke. I stay 10 km's from the sea and the inverter and other electronic equipment is housed in my garage on a shelf. Christian ended the conversation and transferred the call to their customer service. No luck there either. Sameer the suggested that he will email Gentech Industries and copy me, which he did. A couple of days later Gentech responded via email, reducing the quote to repair the inverter from R 3033 to R 1033. I declined the offer, informing Builders (Sameer) that I want to inverter fixed free of charge, replaced or credited with the amount I paid or............. That was two weeks ago. So here we are. I also suggested to Sameer that if Massmart value their customers they should cut ties with Gentech Industries. I'll take the loss. Just waiting for my new Gentech inverter to pack up and will then post of social media how I deal with a Gentech product with a sledgehammer. Justice done..........
