Insurance failing to cover/pay house contents

Extremely bad service from my broker as well as my insurance company, it has been a month since i logged a claim for house burglary and still no payment done on my house contents, to make things worse not everything is being covered simply because i couldn't provide proof of purchase on 2 items, who keeps receipts of good purchased over a year ago? I constantly have to email them to ask how far they are with processing my claim. I have given up on them and i am extremely disappointed at their service and response to settling the claim.
