Am i wrong or was i taken advantage off?
Not many people can understand the impact a declined claim can make on some people lives ,
Yes its just a device ,but some of us including me relay on this device to generate an income to provide for our families ,since I had lost my device I have been very limited to work and as a result unable to generate an income ,falling behind on expenses ,rental etc..
To generic ,
It’s a win not paying a claim.
Simple step by step :
1.i have insured my device in jan this year
2.lost the device early may this year
3.the device had a sim that I hard purchased from people who I assumed are promoters for Telkom and advised that the cards are rica’d
4.i called Telkom ,they blocked the sim and advised me that I cannot obtain the number back as it was not on my name,in addition to that ,they are unable to block the device due to this.
5.i advised generic and was told that’s not true ,I then asked for this in writing from Telkom and they couldn’t and said that insurers know that service providers cannot blacklist a device that had a pre-register sim in it.
6.without the device being blacklisted I was unable to obtain a case number after exhausting all avenues
7.my claim was declined as a result ,generic could have easily called Telkom to confirm this and also would be able to have that statement on recording .
Now can anybody tell me where I went wrong to have my policy declined .
This is the way generic operates in my opinion
