Ashley Jacobs passing the buck

Ashley Jacobs took a cash deposit from me to install a shade net. Ashley delivered the shade net in the wrong colour and arrived at my house with incorrect tools and no ladder. After using my tools and ladder he discovered the rawl bolts were too small for the holes he drilled. Ashley went off to the hardware and came back to finish installing the brackets. I was told by Ashley that he was also going to use chemical anchors as well as rawl bolts for extra strength. Ashley set the chemical anchors into the wall and said that he would come back to finish the installation the next day when the chemical anchors had set. Ashley arrived the next day in a borrowed truck from a friend who had the truck from the business she worked for. Ashley now had a ladder and tools. After checking his work, Ashley realised that the chemical anchors had not set so he had to remove them resulting in bigger rawlbolts in the wall. After installing the net it did not hang properly and Ashley could not tension the corners properly as his measurements were incorrect. I phoned Solishade who had made the net for Ashley, described the bad sewing and incorrect colour and was offered a refund immediately which I accepted. Solishade refunded me R2000 and Ashley had a further R1000 as part of my deposit to him. I asked Ashley to refund my R1000 which he refuses to do saying that he spent money on fasteners, paint, petrol etc which he cannot get a refund on! I have explained to Ashley that he cannot expect me to pay for his mistakes and that he has taken money that does not belong to him. Ashley Jacobs, from Alberton is now ignoring the situation and even-though he is now working for another company on the East Rand is not prepared to reimburse me even for having to fix the holes in my walls and repainting the mess he made.
