It was on the 20/04 (Saturday) when my van broke down on the corner of Sandile Thulsi Road & Playfair close to Blue Waters Hotel. A tow truck guy immediately offered help, I asked him how much it would be, he said R1500 to my house, he then said he can't drop it by my house as its not on a flatbed and his friend's panel shop is nearby. The panel shop is called Genesis Panel & paint. It was only three blocks away... On 22/04 (Monday), my van was already striped and quoted on for R34141, invoice attached. This wasn't the end. I asked these guys if I can have my van picked up. They delayed and kept my van for another day. I asked to please release my van as a reliable towing service can pick it up and drop it in Bluff for R750. They refused to let my van go, they insisted I wait for the towing invoice, the towing invoice on 23/04 (Tuesday night), was sent to me of a ridiculous amount of R19295. This was R7500 for towing, strip and quote (without my permission) was R3695, storage was R1200 a day, security fees were R500 a day and admin fees were R2500. I called in the next day, Genesis panel and paint & mase towing operate with one number. The guy said they can drop the quote if I comply with them. They dropped it to R16495. I stated I could not afford this, and they threatened me and said if I argue any further, they will increase and charge for another day. I paid this ridiculous amount in full. Then they said I didn't do immediate payment and I had to wait again... On 24/04 (Wednesday), Payment eventually reflected, and they said I can collect my van. However, I don't want anyone to fall victim of this, so I am sharing my story... In this time, I spoke to so many different people by the names of: Rashid, Joe, Waseem, Marcel & Shaun. I tried opening a case against them but couldn't... was told to visit the small claims room... Attached are the invoices and payment that I eventually made...
