Not for starting a family
DO NOT join this medical scheme if you’re planning on falling pregnant. There are better medical scheme options out there for you that will actually help you financially.

We’re not entirely sure that we understand your complaint.
Your selected benefit option provides excellent in-hospital cover, as your hospital and related costs for the confinement should be covered in full, while your doctors / specialists will be covered at 200% of the medical aid rate.
Of the 18 open medical schemes in SA, there are less than a handful of benefit options that specifically cater / provide for gynae consultations and scans during the pregnancy. These costs are usually covered from the members’ savings or SMF accounts (as in your case).
