Medical claim
I received a call again from the medical Aid indicating that they rejected the claim of R13000 from DR ROWAN NICHOL INC. My daughter was admitted at Bloemfontein Medclinic on the 16/17 April 18. Genesis medical aid said that the DR must send a full report why EEG test was done and be related to epilepsy as my daughter was admitted because epilepsy. I have sent emails to the Dr and call medical as well many times. By so doing even my day to day saving R7000 is finished. I want DR ROWAN NICHOL INC and Genesis Medical Aid to sort this out as soon as possible. She was admitted last August with DR Erna Pretorius and I did not have any problem. I’m wandering why now. I have been a member of Genesis since 2005 and I have never been admitted to the hospital. My daughter just started getting sick last year and we use it for the first time. This app s the second time when she get admitted. Genesis and Dr Rowan Nichol sort this issue as soon as possible.Member Number ********** 7

Thank you for taking our call earlier this afternoon. As explained to you, the Scheme requires additional clinical information in order to finalise the funding decision on some of the claims. Generally speaking, unless sufficient clinical information is submitted to the Scheme, diagnostic tests that do not result in the confirmation of an illness that necessitates surgery, may be excluded from the funding of in-hospital benefits if it's not directly related to the in-hospital treatment of a condition(s).
