Genesis - a **** medical aid
I have a hospital plan with Genesis - i was rushed to hospital at the beginning of June after collapsing at home - they are now not covering in hospital benefits and not paying the hospital in full for may stay - i need to pay in excess of R40k for the hospital stay and doctors that treated me in hospital - please be careful when considering this medical aid - i will be looking at other options if they do not pay -

It is not correct to state that Genesis is not covering your in-hospital expenses. The Scheme has, on various occasions, requested additional clinical input, but has, to date, not received any feedback. Without the requested information we are unable to assess and process your claims.

I see yesterday the scheme sent emails to the hospital and doctors requesting info(why was this not done earlier) - please be advised that this was an emergency and i had to be admitted and whatever tests done in hospital including doctor's cost should be covered as per my plan - i await further feedback as i am receiving hospital and doctors bills -

08 Jul 2026, 15:31I will request the outstanding info from the hospital and doctors and will send it through - please advise why the medical scheme requested a report from my wife's gynaecologist - when that has nothing to do with my hospital admission - the gynae sent the info and an invoice for that - please settle that with the doctor as we did not request the report - i don't understand why this was done - i will not be liable for the bill as it was requested by the scheme -
