A simple pre-sales question - Please respond to email
<p>Hi Genesis,</p> <p> </p> <p>Yesterday I emailed you at ********** with a simple pre-sales question but I haven't yet received a response.</p> <p> </p> <p>Here is the email:</p> <p>-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------</p> <p>I am considering your 'Private' Hospital plan for our family.</p> <p>My wife is pregnant and while I know her pregnancy and birth would not be covered by the medical scheme, please be specific about immediate cover for the newborn baby.</p> <p><br />Would the baby be automatically covered on birth, as a dependent, and then we register him/her within a certain period after the birth?</p> <p><br />In your FAQ section (https://www.genesismedical.co.za/frequently-asked-questions/), you state:</p> <p>How do I go about adding a dependent?</p> <p>You need to complete the “Dependant Form” (found on the Forms page). We acknowledge receipt of your question to Genesis at 21.29 pm last night. Our office hours are from 8.15 am to 16.15 pm and our turnaround time on queries is normally within 24 hours.

A newborn baby that is born into a medical scheme will receive immediate cover and no waiting periods would be applicable. The Scheme would require the main member to register the baby within 30 days.
The Scheme’s requirement of a birth certificate is not grossly unfair. Registering a dependant with a valid ID number is a requirement of the Medical Schemes Act. We will always liaise with our members on the progress made w.r.t. obtaining a birth certificate.
Should you have any further questions, you are most welcome to liaise directly with one of our consultants. We will respond to email queries within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can give us a call on ***.

I have emailed you in response as I require a little more clarification on two of your points.
In trying to select a Medical Scheme provider I have been appalled at the level of complaints issued on Hello Peter (which forms part of the decision making process in selecting a provider) to many of your competitors and apparently the 'best / top 10' scheme providers.
It was enough to put my right off giving them my business.
Genesis appear to be different; perhaps as you are a little smaller, better trained, more customer focused... time will tell, however my first impression through logging this query with you is a positive one.
Keep it up, don't lose focus and perhaps you'll move to the top of the food-chain as a result of excellence!
