Warranty claim dispute
On 5th October 2015, I booked in my Chevrolet sedan at the Thorp Plumstead Dealership to check an engine noise. I was informed a few days later that the repairs would take a month because the engine had failed a compressor test. Afterwards, I was shocked to hear that foreign metals was found in the engine. Their automotive engineering service provider claimed that the engine cylinder head was previously skimmed.
In November 2015, the service manager Mr R Britz informed me that GM had send their district managers, Mr R English and Mr J Taylor to inspect the damaged engine and it was decided that GM would not replace the engine under the manufacturers warranty.
Further investigation revealed that Reeds N1 City had previously done engine repairs during a routine service interval and decided not to claim from the manufacturers warranty. On the 26th November 2015, I received a mail from the Thorp dealership that the service manager, Mr J Smal of Reeds had decided to collect my vehicle at Thorp but gave no indication how my complaint would be remedied.
I am most unhappy in the manner my complaint is being dealt with and I insist a GM representative to review and oversee my complaint.
