Same story...different dealer

I will start this story at the beginning. We purchased 2 Chev Utility bakkies form a Thorp Dealership in 2014. We experienced numerous problems with these vehicles and had to take them back to the dealership on several occasions. These problems ranged from mechanical, electrical and material issues with the bakkies, where starters had to be replaced after a couple of months, door panels would simply fall off, etc. After a huge ordeal we eventually simply gave up and decided to never purchase these vehicles again.

Just after one year later, a gentlemen called Hussain Rahman from Reeds Cape Town came to our offices and asked us how we felt about our Chev bakkies. After explaining to him that we are deeply disappointed in the brand and will be trading the vehicles in on something different, the sales pitch came out...

Unfortunately, he convinced us to give the Chev bakkies another chances, making very interesting accusations regarding the Thorp dealership and why our initial vehicles gave us such problems. He ensured us that this is not the norm and would not happen again. He made us an offer, to show good faith, that they will trade in our old vehicles at the current settlement value and we would then purchase two new 2016 Chev Utility bakkies from them.

What a mistake!!!!! On delivery/Collection of the vehicles, the one was already dented on the side and the other had marks on the inside door panels. The alarm system on the one was also not completely installed. Within a week or 2 the problems started. Fans would simply not work, fluid would be dripping from mechanical equipment, the one vehicle simply cuts out whilst driving, etc.

They are now looking for the one excuse after the other as to why this happened, but these are brand new vehicles and this should not happen!!! It has now been more than two months and most of the issues on these bakkies still have not been sorted out. When speaking to a sales manager called Brian and expressing my concern, one could clearly hear that he simply was not interested in what I had to say.

We do not want these vehicles anymore and I expressed this in an email on Wednesday 25/05/2016, to which I still have not received any feedback. These are terrible vehicles, which comes with terrible customer service.

We want this to be sorted out or the vehicles taken back! We will never support any dealership which operates under the GM brand again.
