in Dec14, my chev captiva showed 5 warning lghts. DCS, ABS, AWD, ETC. I booked it to chev for a inspection. the inspection was conducted on Monday, 22nd dec14. I was notified that the right front haeness was the cause. upon obtaining the cost(R1 800), I gave permission to the repair. when I went to fetch my car, I was told that the ABS unit was the cause. they need to book it in for another day because it is a major job and costs a lot of money. the lights were still indicating an error. I was told that I can drive the car. I went to seek 2nd opinion from the one of the after market service providers in pta west. the guy has a computer for the diagnosis, and he charged me R300 to perform it. i could not believe it. the diagnosis pointed to the right front wheel sensor. i got home and started to dissemble the car. i took out the sensor and just wiped it and put it back on. and i re-assembled the wheel. when i turned the car on, immediately two (AWD & DCS) of the errors were cleared, as i pull the out the gate ABS cleared, the other two cleared as i accelerated up the street. THIS PROVED TO ME THAT THE DEALERS ARE ********* IN THEIR CONDUCT TO RIP US OFF OUR HARD EARNED MONEY.
