GENERAL MOTOR|S FOR OPEL ASTRA

I have an employee that baught a Opel Astra brand new from Reeds Claremont in capetown 3 years ago.

We have had serious issues with this car and had a engine replaced already since then the troubles have been non stop.

The car was back for a service and when the owner pulled the dipstick it was dry. We called and was told to return the vehicle so they can assess it.

They filled the car with oil and told him to drive a 1000 kms without filling the oil so they can chek it We did that and apon return the vehicle was filled with 6510ml of oil that is more than 6 liters of oil. We are being told that this is within spec for the vehicle. They were advised that the vehicle is smoking .

I have NEVER heard of that type of usage being normal. They claim that there is no oil and that the catalitic converter is needing replacement, keep in mind this was baught new.

The catalitic converter is serposed to be a long wearing item and is extremely expensive as it is made from platinum. Is it normal to have to replace this every 3 years? Nope i will in my life never advise anyone to buy anything from Reeds Auto not even a cooldrink they are professional buck passers.
