Excessive rates for parts

Opel dealers in South Africa are charging in excess of 10 times the rate for parts fitted compared to similar parts from reputable after markets parts suppliers. The response from the dealers is that pricing set by General Motors and not at dealer level.<br> A recent example was an idling valve for a 2006 Opel Corsa costs R3100 fitted at Reeds Opel but costs less than R300 at parts suppliers. The job takes less than 10 minutes to remove and refit; it is a very common part fitted to many ranges of opel vehicles.<br> It is quite understandable to pay higher rates at dealers but differences in excess of 10 times appear unreasonable and exorbitant.
