Yet again POOR service delivery from GEMS!!!!!!

Absolutely shocking service from GEMS

I have received an outstanding account from my anaesthetist post emergency caesarean section from February 2024. The account was partially paid then denied further on the grounds that Helen Joseph Hospital is closer to my home, stating in the email it is 7.7km away from my home. I live 1.7km away fro Park Lane Hospital.

I went on to contact GEMS once the claim was resubmitted for PMB review of which it was denied, called again and the consultant said the Dr should write a motivation stating it was an emergency caesarean section done at 01:30 (not sure who has an elective c-section at 1am).

The anaesthetist then submitted the gynaecologist motivation and my physicians motivation (writing weeks prior to the birth and submitted to GEMS due to prior medical condition).

I have no received an email stating again that GEMS has declined the payment on the grounds that Helen Joseph Hospital is closer to my home.

GEMS!!!! Please get your organisation in order! I do not live closer to Helen Joseph Hospital than Park Lane and I find absolutely shocking that no department can assist me with this account.
