Theres the alleged face of GEMS absolutely rude and unbecoming Mr, Themba working in the membership department. decorum, phone etiquette such an abomination. Astonishing behavior absolutely unbelievable.

I called GEMS enquiring about the list of Ophthalmologists contracted with GEMS as I need to consult a specialist to have eye surgery.

Which by the way I have previously in 2024 without any hassles. Themba quoted " we dont have such specialists here" I requested him to transfer me to someone else as I need an update on my option change on Emerald. He had the unwarranted opinionated statement that " open quote- you cannot hop in and our of options as you please and why would you want to pay more? " let it be known my economic stance and status has absolutely nothing to do with him.

The surgery that I need needs to be done. I told him I'm paying and have been with this medical aid since the era of Noah 1982, then the response I got was well Mam you'll find yourself owing a medical aid without receiving funding with all the hopping. and besides the contributions of Emerald Value and Emerald are exactly the same. Which is absolutely incorrect as I pay more on Emerald. Unless as him impersonating the face of GEMS I'm missing something regarding the monthly funds I'm paying which clearly according to him is a waste. In closing I called GEMS today seeking confirmation of a Ophthalmologist before my scheduled appointment if whether he is contracted under the network as I need a corneal transplant asap. I'm a client in distress with all the years I've been with GEMS by far this is the worst assistance I've recieved and to top it off I was not helped but when I started complaining he hangs up the phone.
