Unfair cancelation of medical aid

Hello My medical aid no: *** for Mr M. W Mabelane, Persal ***8

I am a full member of gems since I have joined the Department of Correctional Services in 1986 September 22nd until 2020 January 31st. Ever since I have contributed to this medical aid I have never skipped my monthly premium up until I took on my early retirement on the set date 2020 January 31st with all my full details submitted to Gems on the continuations forms that I will remain a gems member even if I'm on early retirement.

To my surprise, I was told telephonic ally to pay R538 at FNB before my account was canceled and I did that and emailed the invoice immediately which was Saturday. The following Monday I was told my medical aid is canceled due to outstanding payment of March 2020, I had to pay the full amount of R6000 to continue with my medical aid, I also did what I was told but to my surprise I was told to fill in the new forms so that I will have a new membership and be on the waiting period for three months, and I'm on Chronic medication. When I asked that what must I do as I am on chronic medication I was told I will be assisted to get my chronic but not to go and consult the doctor or to go to hospital until my three months waiting period.

I'm a member who is not currently happy with the way that I have been handled as I am still paying the very same amount R6058 without subsidy, that I have been paying while I was still a full member of Department of Correctional Services I paid R 3650. I feel mishandled because all this things started before Covid-19 and official lockdown which resumes by 27 March 2020. I feel that there was no reason why I was supposed to start up a new medical aid, and there were no further efforts were taken for me to be assisted before I could be canceled whilst I've heard that there are other members who were on the same boat as me but their medical aid were not canceled, I don't know what was wrong with me or that so special to be the one amongst the most to be taken out and feel thus pain and stress that I'm undergoing right now and I don't even afford that amount any longer please assist.
