Unfair bill for emergency C-section.

In general, we are very happy with GEMS, but my son was born via an emergency C-section at 36 weeks last year June after I went into pre-term labor and the baby was in fetal distress. Afterwards we got a bill for R10,000 for a selective C-section, but it was an emergency. We've been trying since then to convince GEMS that it was an emergency, but they keep declining our evidence. I would gladly pay the R10,000 for a selective C-section, but I would not choose to have my baby at 36 weeks gestation. The hospital has sent through the EKG report, the doctor has written a letter and yet I still receive the R10,000 bill from GEMS.
