****py Service/Paying for nothing

I am disappointed, frustrated, unhappy, devasted. I joined Gems in January this year, even though I heard alot of issues people had with Gems I decided to join nonetheless. Waiting period is 3 months ago by Maech/April I was an active member.

I have always had shoulder and back pains but they have gotten worse of late. I also develop short breathes and my cousin suggested I go see doctor Coetzer. Which he than asked to look at my height,weight, breasts and he was shocked and even took pictures, saying that my breasts are way to big for my weight and height. He measured them and gave me advice on what to do which is to operate and reduce them as it's a medical and health issue. He told me that he will apply to my medical aid (gems) and motivate the procedure.

Gems declined and rejected the application and told me that there was not enough clinical information. Now what more information do they want I asked, and they couldn't provide me with a reasonable answer. Their other excuse was that im a new member.

So you can't get sick or be in pain if you are a new member according to Gems. Even though I have long passed the waiting period. A qualified doctor recommends a procedure for me as the best option for my health and GEMS feels Dr Coetzer is talking nonsense.

I have been paying on time, and when I need GEMS to help me by paying for my procedure, I get thrown with a load of ****py excuses. Then why am I paying the monthly installment if I can't receive help when I need it most.

I'm going to leave this Medical Aid. Me and my family. They also disappointed when they heard my story. GEMS is leaving me to die in pain than helping me.
