Poor Service.
Good day. I have been a GEMS client for 8 years. In November 2018 I app**** for my wife to become a beneficiary on my account ( ********** 29). In order to do that she had to leave her previous medical aid.
I received not emails from GEMS regarding my application. I later found out that they misspelled my email address.
When I went back to GEMS Worcester to find out more about my application they said there were still documents outstanding. Thus I had to re-apply in January. According to the latest update she will now only be registered on 1 May 2019, but will only be able to use the benefits from 1 August.
I understand the general waiting period. However, if GEMS did what needed to be done, she would would have been registered from 1 March 2019 and benefits would have been applicable from 1 June 2019. She is currently with no medical aid. and GEMS delays the process.
What if something serious does happen? This is not a medical aid that seems to care about their clients. This is completely unacceptable.
