Poor Communication and Service

I gave birth on 16 September 2016 and I recently received an sms from the hospital that I owe them money. I have followed up with the hospital as to establish how I owe them money for my stay at the hospital. Below is the explanation from the hospital.

It was estimated that I will deliver on normal birth on the 13 September 2016, authorisation number was requested and issued by GEMS for that, however the delivery did not take place on the said date. On 14 September 2016 I was admitted to be induced after my doctors' cautious examination on my situation given at that time. Then the hospital informed GEMS of my admission of that night and an authorisation was issued. It is also said that my admission on 14 September 2016 was a medical admission On the 16 I ended up delivering my baby on an emergency C-Section which was deemed necessary by my Dr after careful consideration of my and the baby's situation then. My Dr later came to explain to me that he had opted for a C-Section as the situation was a matter of life and death. Which I also saw that things were not looking good with me. To prove that it was an emergency, I was the 1st patient to be delivered on that morning. I was delivered even before the patients that had a scheduled C-Section for that day. According to the hospital, GEMS was contacted on the 16 regarding the change of medical patient admission to maternity admission and they were advised to retain the same authorisation number issued on the 14 September 2016.

I sent several e-mails to GEMS I have never received any response, I made calls which I did not appreciate the time I had to wait on the phone with them and they told me that they cannot call me back. They admitted to me that they made error with regards to the authorisation numbers that is why my claim was not paid.

I have now received final demand from the hospital and that my name is handed over and that summons will be issued.
