Poor communication

To whom it may concern,

On 20 February 2017, all requested documents have been submitted to GEMS to include one of my beneficiaries to the oncology programme. As of yet, authorisation has still not be received - despite me visiting your walk-in-office in Cape Town.

The beneficiary has been scheduled to start chemotherapy two weeks ago. But, because of the delay, chemotherapy has not proceeded and the beneficary has now been admitted to hospital again - which would have been avoided if the chemotherapy had been underway.

No communication was received from GEMS regarding the status of the process and the beneficary has been left in the dark!

This lack of communication is appalling! Particularly when a client is challenged with such a serious illness! The added stress and second stint in the hospital could have been avoided if the beneficiary had been communicated with!

I do hope that authorisation will happen soon, as the doctor has indicated two weeks ago already that the beneficiary is ready for chemotherapy!

Can one of your consultants contact me a.s.a.p. This is an urgent request!
