Poor admin from GEMS

My membership was supposed to start today. 1 March 2018. I have emailed my application on 6 Feb 2018. The consultant said that my application should be in before 19 Februaru 2018 so that my membership would be active from 1 March. My cancellation of membership at my previous medical aid was scheduled for 28 February 2018. On 16 February I received an email stating that my application was received and GEMS would be in contact with me within 48 hours. On 26 February, I phoned them to ask what is happening. They told me that they need my bank statements.( The consultant whom I spoke to the very first time said that my payslip is enough). I went to the bank and got the statements and emailed it immediately. I followed up everyday with no progress. Today, 1 March 2018, they phoned me and said they received my bank statements today! So I will be an active member only as of 1 April 2018 because they did not receive my bank statements before 28 February. I am now without medical aid, I need my chronic medication. What now?
