Pathetic service

I was having awful back pain as well as pain in my hip and I couldn't feel my left leg. I contacted my GP and she told me it would be a waste seeing her as I needed to see the physician she referred me to earlier in the year. I contacted the physician explained my condition she told me to go straight to casualty at the hospital and she will see me there. When she saw me she told me I must be admitted and she wants the neurosurgeon to see me. However, gems decided that they would not approve authorization. The lady I spoke to, Tracy, was very rude and didn't want to listen to me, she told me that the physician couldn't admit me only the neurosurgeon could. I told her I was in extreme pain and couldn't feel my legs she bluntly asked me if I was reading a script or if someone told me what to say, I don't even know what she meant by that but she then said she will not approve authorisation. She said only a request from a neurosurgeon would be acceptable. The neurosurgeon that I was supposed to see then tried to get me admitted but even that was declined, so I have no idea what gems wanted. I was then told I had to go home, in extreme pain and not being able to feel my legs, and without any help from my so called medical aid who I pay over R4000 every month with employer contribution it is R7500. This isn't the first time I have been let down by gems. The service is pathetic and they do not care about the wellbeing of their clients. Now I sit at home unable to feel my legs and with awful pain in my lower back and no way to get help. I will now seek legal assistance as I am fed up with gems as a service provider.
