Pain Chronic medication not approve

I am so disappointed. I have sick due to assist from 2020. Now the issue is medication I take pain medication due to funds being depleted around April I have to pay close to R2500 each month for medication. Dr gave a 6 months prescription. Due to financial constraints I request that be under chronic because I can't afford cash. Mt life depends on the pain medication for now, but GEMS cannot approve chronic for pain medication. I don't how am I going to survive because Dr gave motivation for this due my critical condition after neck surgery. I see that GEMS is only concern about members paying premiums than looking at the situations and compromise. They have all the records of what has happened as they have covered me under PMB in 2021
