Owing an amount I have no idea of.

I got a call from Gems, that I am owing an amount R25 378,19 due to Lorna's Suspension. In January/February when I asked to email a proof of registration, I did tell them that 2020's academic year ends in March 2021 as it was announced by the Minister of Higher education. Lorna was a student until March and I did also emailed Gems that she was still waiting for response from the another institution that she app**** to. On the 9/04/2021 she was admitted to hospital and Gems authorized that.

On the 12/05/2021 I received an email that Lorna was suspended with effect from 1/04/2021 ,the time she was admitted to hospital I did not know that she was already suspended. On the 11/06/2021 I wrote Gems an email to register Lorna and I was prepared to pay the adults full premium amount as from 1/07/2021, I didn't get any response from Gems side, I did again write to Gems on the 04/07/2021 about registering Lorna back as a full member and I still didn't get response.

Then August it came to my attention that she was suspended, I called and enquire about that, then I requested that she must be terminated, then in September I app**** that she must be reinstated, and now all of a sudden I am owing R25 378,19 it lives me a bit perplexed.

I do not want to be a victim of their mistake or carelessness.
