Operation denied.
I was advised by my surgeon to have a hernia repaired. His office gave me the quotes, which I gave to GEMS. They gave me an authorisation number and told me that I can go for the operation on 03 October 2022. I received a sms a couple of days later to say that my application has been declined, because my BMI (30) is too low for a laparoscopic procedure.!!! I do not understand how a procedure can be cancelled after it has been authorised...

31 Jul 2023, 16:27Good day. No, I did not receive the outcome. I am still walking around with this bulge of a hernia. It is not pleasant to live with this discomfort every day.
