After numerous of email GEMS finally advised what documents are outstanding to consider an ex gratia payment. After a lot of time spend to get this documentation I asked them where I can drop this off as it a lot of documentation and they actually have the records of this - the request for the ex gratia payment to Willow Way Pharmacy is the accumulated co-payments made for 2018 on my mothers chonic medication. But again, 2 emails later - no response.

Good day,
Willow Way Pharmacy have prepared all the documents as requested by GEMS below, it is quite a bit. Please can I set up a meeting to hand this over in person?
If feel that it is very important that it is noted that this outstanding account was accumulated as a result of the levies that had to be paid on my mom’s monthly chronic medication as well as the medication that was not covered by the medical aid. Thus when you pull the statements on your side you will be able to balance it out.
You will also note that even this year I have been paying a levy of +- R600 per month on her chronic medication which is actually ridiculous – GEMS only cover certain of her medication on chronic.

29 Oct 2019, 13:13We have handed in the outstanding ex gratia documentation at the Sancardia Walk-in GEMS offices. It was an a very unpleasant experience as the staff where rude and had lots of questions as to why this documentation was handed in there. We dealt with a Senior Manager named Edith Khabisi. She opened the envelope and asked questions about the documentation and the more we explained that this is the outstanding documentation she kept asking where is the original request ect. It was really frustrating and after explaining the umpteenth time that she only has to send this to the Ex gratia division, she gave us the following ref nr : ***. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL AND ONLY COPIES THAT I HAVE.
I would suggest that you give Edith a call and ensure that this gets send to the correct people at GEMS PLEASE?
A lady by the name of Lynette Thompson called me last week and gave met her email address but I have subsequently misplaced this address, if someone can just ask her to please email or call me
