No basic human rights

Received an sms saying HOME CARE is declined because "CT HEAD SCAN results were seen by a medical advisor"!! The hospital report said "multiple dementia infarcts" which is by definition a degree of brain damage... I challenge GEMS to come and inspect the patient, who cannot stand, walk, feed herself, or speak coherently. She has to be cleaned, bathed, dressed, fed 24/7. We are SASSA pensioners and cannot pay carers to help. We are in our 70's and are unable to attend to the patient's needs, having health problems ourselves. The stroke and subsequent ambulance trips were so traumatic to the patient that very severe dementia has set in . We provided the drs' motivation letters to give you proof that HOME CARE/FRAIL CARE/PALLIATIVE CARE is needed. The patient is in need of someone strong enough to lift, turn, move her all the time. She is completely incontinent and requires constant cleaning. For GEMS to deny her humane care is absolutely INHUMANE, a denial of basic Human Rights. You can change your terms as you like to try and avoid covering the patient 's basic human rights..... Its all the same thing. She needs assistance!!! Whether it be HOME CARE, FRAIL CARE, PALLIATIVE CARE.... whatever you want to call it, they know exactly what is needed and how to provide it, but it seems GEMS is simply trying desperately to find a way not to care and provide the necessary support and help!!!
