Newborn with a waiting period

<p>GEMS is absolutely the worst medical aid. It is a pity that Government only subsidises this particular health insurance which allows them to act ************ly due to the fact that they know their customers are actually their hostages.</p> <p> </p> <p>My baby was removed form the medical aid due to non submission of a borth certificate, which is understandable. However, the hospital made an error and did not submit our application to home affairs (they gave us a letter stating this). After weeks of following up with hospital, I eventually went to home affairs myself, this resulted in a delay and my baby was subsequently removed from the med aid. She has been reinstated with waiting periods now & pmb will not even be paid!! Mind you she was removed one week and her documents were sent the following week- I support rules being strictly adhered to but when a new 1st time mom has done all she can and the service providers (hospital & medical aid) have failed to carry out their responsibilities- the mother & baby should not be the ones who are compromised. </p> <p> </p> <p>The birth certificate has an error on it! I bet GEMS will extend the waiting periods even further due to this!</p>
